The Schroon Lake Weekender: The Summer Fun Continues

Friday

If you wanna give the kids a break from the sun, there's a terrific arts and crafts workshop at the Library this morning, starting at 11am.

While it's the end of the week, it's  the beginning of a new movie at the Strand Theatre. All this week  -- in air conditioned comfort at 8pm -- Pixar's new offering Brave will be showing.

Be sure to check out the weekly Family Fun Night and Rodeo at the World of Life Ranch at Pottersville. You can read our review here. If you have kids -- this is a must do event. On ya horses and get going. The fun starts at 7pm.

Music with Dreaded Wheat. This duo of Alan Vecchio and  Mike Packard will appeal to rock, blues, and alt country fans alike. Check out a sample of their music here. Witherbee's carriage House at 7pm.

Saturday

Need a good book for the summer? Check out the Used Book Sale in the basement of the Hudson Headwater bulding. From 10 am  - 2pm. Sponsored by Friends of Schroon Lake Library.

Little Red Riding Hood will be paying Schroon a visit in this children's play by the same name at the Boat House, today at 10 am and 11.30 am. This free event is sponsored by the Seagle Music Colony.  518-532-7875

Curtis and the Dilettantes will be rocking the loft at Witherbee’s Carriage House  tonight at 8pm. Curtis Becraft, a former Schroon Lake Beach life guard back in the day, promises an evening of music, story-telling and remembrance, and, as Curtis says, “warm hopes for future happy days. All that in a concert, right? Well, we'll do our best to make it special”
