Schroon Lake 4th: What You Need To Know

The sights and sounds of today’s parade will give you memories of a lifetime. No matter if this is your 1st or 50th parade – here's some news you can use about today’s celebration.

What time does the parade start?

The Parade starts promptly 6pm and leaves from the intersection of Hoffman Road and Route 9.

Who is in the parade?

Just about every service organization in Schroon Lake and surrounding areas, fire trucks, police vehicles, vintage cars of every shape and size, horses, clowns, dogs, war veterans, boy scouts, unicyclists, tractors, more than a dozen bands, local businesses, churches and this year an entire wedding party.

Where are the best vantage points?

All along the parade route – which goes from Hoffman Road, all the way up Main Street, down Fowler Ave and onto Leland Ave and to the Town Beach area.

What time do the fireworks start and where are they launched from?

The fireworks typically start when it gets dark – and in years past, that’s usually around 9ish. There's an area along the beach which is blocked off from where the firework are set off.

We have kids. What activities are available for them?

There are a bunch of fun things for kids to do today. Starting at 11 am and going through to 9pm is the Art Bucket for kids. There’s an airbrush center, tattoos, face painting and hair braiding. It’s at the Town Park near the beach. Beginning at 12 and going to 5 is the Bounce Around activity center.

Any other tips?

Remember your camera, hat, sunscreen and water. If you’ve got a beach chair, you might wanna bring that --  the parade is long, and a whole lotta fun!
