They purchased the property in 2018 and have been in renovation overdrive transforming the restaurant, bar and motel rooms until just a few days ago. The bar features 20 taps and a new menu, which we’ll have more details on in the days ahead. What’s different about TB@SL is that unlike Drake’s, the y are opening for lunch and dinner.

And for electric car drivers there’s an electric car charging station – the only one for 40 miles. Watch this space for more information in the days ahead.

Three Cheers For The Brewers of Paradox

The three cool brewers of Paradox--  Devon Hamilton, Thomas Formicola,  and James DeWaard, -- can be spotted in a video, promoting a new, upcoming series on PBS about the Empire State's growing brewing industry, Brewed in NY.  The three appear briefly in the video, captured while kicking back at this year's NY Craft Beer Festival in Utica. Check out the video in our Food and Drink section, by clicking here.

The accolades and medals keep rolling in for Schroon's own Paradox Brewery. Huge congrats to brew masters Devon and JD! Their Southern Hemisphere Double IPA won bronze at last weekend’s TAP New York Beer Contest.  Everyone at PDX are “honored and humbled to be recognized for what we love doing.”

Amen to that. If you want a taste of this brilliant drop, ya better hurry. These hand bottled beauties are flying out the door of the breweries Tasting Room.

From PDX founder Paul Mrocka:

“The medal winning beer is a limited release Double IPA brewed with loads of southern hemisphere hops from New Zealand. This is a big, bold IPA with coconut, mango and especially white grape flavors from the hop profile and notes of peach and nectarine courtesy of our house yeast blend.  A puffy mouthfeel is provided by the flaked oats we add. We’re working hard to source more of these hard-to-come-by hops with the hope that we can continue brewing this award winner!"

This Saturday, like most days, will be an excellent time to drink a Paradox Beer or two!

Free Beer In Schroon – Really!!!

First there was Paul Mrocka and his partners and investors dream of opening a brewery.

They found a home for their brewery.

They applied for permits.

They brewed beer.

Hurricane Sandy delayed everything!

The permits arrived and the beer flowed, like nectar of the Gods!!

Word spread – the beer becomes a huge hit. Now the best part: Free Beer!!!. Find out more in our Food and Drink Section.
